Dresser Wayne Contactless Payment Solution a Success with Retail Fueling Customers
Dresser Wayne is expanding payment options for customers with dispenser integrated contactless payment. The company is pleased with the success of their contactless payment card readers with retail fueling customers. Isela Nunez with Cobblestone Auto Spa in Phoenix said, "I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly customers started using the contactless cards. Customer acceptance has been good, and we are seeing the usage increase over time. We are excited to bring this technology to our customers."
Wayne has had dispenser integrated contactless card readers installed for several months utilizing Panasonic hybrid card readers. According to Robin Sweeten, Group Manager, Strategic Marketing for the Panasonic Industrial Company, "Contactless is all about providing speed and convenience for the consumer and faster sales throughput for the merchant or retailer."
Contactless card payment is easier than using traditional magnetic stripe readers because the consumer does not need to remove the card from their wallet in order to swipe it. It is also more flexible than previous radio frequency applications, which were typically tied to keyfob devices located on a keyring. For merchants, contactless payment provides an additional layer of security that is not available with the traditional magnetic stripe, which ultimately reduces the amount of fraud and charges associated with chip technology.
Because of the modular design of Dresser Wayne dispenser products, contactless payment can be added to dispensers in the field. Depending on the types of cards accepted, this feature can be added without making any changes to the point-of-sale.
