Electronic Commerce's Place in Mainstream Business

Electronic Commerce's Place in Mainstream Business Evident with Topaz Systems' Third Consecutive Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award

SIMI VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2004--Electronic signature technology manufacturer Topaz Systems, Inc. will be named to Deloitte's prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program for Los Angeles, a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the area by Deloitte & Touche LLP, one of the nation's leading professional services firms. Scheduled to be announced September 21, the 2004 Technology Fast 50 rankings are based on the percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues over five years, from 1999-2003. Topaz also received the prestigious award in 2002 and 2003.

Topaz CEO Anthony Zank credits product versatility and security, coupled with the emergence of electronic commerce as a mainstream business practice, for his company's success. "The electronic creation, signing, transmission, and storage of business documents has become a core process throughout many business sectors worldwide," said Zank. "As more businesses incorporate e-commerce into their core processes, they turn to Topaz electronic signature technology as an industry leader in quality, versatility, and security. The result is a high level of sustained growth, as this is Topaz's third consecutive year in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50."

To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1999 and $1,000,000 in 2003, must be public or private companies headquartered in North America, and be a "technology company" defined as owning proprietary technology that contributes a significant portion of the company's operating revenues (using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify); and/or devoting a significant portion of revenues to research and development of technology.
